| How to Create a Book Cover for Free |
Creating a book cover can be nothing short of easy and fun. As an Author of 3 books and counting book cover creation is my absolute favorite part of the process. Sometimes I will create the cover before I even finish, like my next book that will be released this month. Although, a couple of my covers were created after completion of the book. Allow your own creative juices to flow and you decide when it is appropriate to work on this step.
First time authors are under the false assumption that you need hundreds if not thousands of dollars to publish a book or even the cover, when in fact all you need are the right tools and to allow your creative juices to flow. Granted we are not all creatives by nature and frankly, you may not even be interested in doing the work yourself. However, if your dreams are bigger than your pockets sometimes you'll just have to buckle down and do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.

The software I have been using for my last couple of books is an app called Canva.
Canva is a graphic design app that features stored templates for book cover design, social media posts, flyer, logos and video editing.
For the most part the app is free. a few templates will cost around $1.49 for the rights to the photo. The design pictured above is the cover for my latest book Hatari Island. I created this cover for free on my Android phone.
Let's get to How you can create your free book cover.
Step 1. Download the app in the Google play or iTunes app store.

Step 2. Click "see all" and click "book"covers. Choose your genre. Pick your cover.
