Drinking lemon water can be a great way to help you lose weight. Lemon water is a natural diuretic that helps to flush out toxins from the body and can help to reduce water retention. It also helps to improve digestion and can increase your metabolism, burning more calories. Drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning can help to jumpstart your metabolism and curb cravings throughout the day. Adding lemon to your water can help to replace sugary drinks and can be a great way to stay hydrated.
Drinking lemon water may assist with weight loss in a few ways. Lemons are high in Vitamin C and other antioxidants, which can boost the immune system and promote overall health. Lemons also contain pectin, a type of fiber that can help you feel full and may reduce cravings for sweet or high-calorie foods. Additionally, lemon juice can act as a diuretic, helping to flush excess water weight from the body. However, it's important to note that drinking lemon water alone is not a magic solution for weight loss and should be combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
When and how to drink:
-I recommend starting with 1/3 of lemon, which should be about a 1 inch slice depending on the size and squeeze the juice into 8-10 ounces of water.
- Another way would be to allow half of a lemon to infuse overnight. Slice your lemon into about 1/2 inch slices and place into an odor resistant water bottle (some water bottles are for water only and they will hold other scents and odors for long periods of time) large enough to fill with 10-14 ounces of water. Drink thought the day.
-Starting your day drinking lemon water will help adjust your palette throughout the day. Your cravings will be curbed and after some time (amount of time will vary) will start to crave whole, healthier foods.
-The coldest temperature should be room temperature but those in need of digestive improvement should drink their lemon water warm.
-I recommend starting with once per day before your first meal. Be mindful of how your body responds to the introduction of acidity. Then, gradually increase to before each meal if needed.
*Please note, lemon juice is highly acidic and can aggravate symptoms of acid reflux. Also, It is highly recommended to drink lemon water or any other acidic foods after drinking plain water and brushing your teeth to protect your tooth enamel.
